Visit Us at the DUG Permian Basin Conference

The Permian Basin is an essential part of U.S. oil production and has been for nearly a century; however, recent spikes in supply have lowered oil prices significantly — challenging even the most stalwart and longstanding drilling companies.

How are producers navigating these difficult times? Find out at the DUG Permian Basin Conference and Exhibition, being held at the Fort Worth Convention Center from May 23rd through the 25th. The DUG brand devotes itself to developing unconventional petroleum resources of all types and proudly sponsors some of the world’s largest events and expos.

DUG conference participants number in the thousands, presenting unparalleled educational, growth, and networking opportunities. Industry leaders will address how petroleum’s top producers continue to invest in the Permian Basin, positioning themselves to profit during difficult times.

Key Topics Explored by the Experts

The industry’s most lauded authorities will address vital topics that cover all plays of the Permian Basin, including Wolfcamp, Spraberry, Bone Spring, Leonard, Avalon, and Yeso. Specific panels, seminars, and lectures will address the following:

• Maximizing Efficiency — With oil prices remaining low, producers need to employ the most efficient drilling methods. Successful operators will discuss their techniques of drilling stacked and staggered wells, resulting in excellent exploration and production efficiency.
• Permian Basin: Now and in the Future — How are current production levels faring and what does the future hold? Active producers and leading analysts discuss the current state of the basin, also providing expert forecasts for short term and long term production.
• The Newest Technologies — Horizontal drilling and other efficient technologies are largely responsible for the basin’s recent boom. Explore how new, innovative methods continue to evolve and promise ways to provide increased oil production at lower costs.

Come Visit Us

Conference attendees come from nearly every sector of the petroleum industry, from E&P companies and pipeline operators to investors, attorneys, policymakers, and more. Southwest Process Controls will be there, too — you can find us exhibiting with Hy-Lok USA in booth 111.

Advanced Technology & Alternative Energy Highlighted at Upcoming ACT Expo

In May, conference and expo season is in full bloom.  In addition to the Offshore Technology Conference (OTC) taking place in Houston, the Alternative Clean Transportation (ACT) Expo is happening from May 4th through 7th in Dallas, Texas.  The ACT EXPO represents the largest clean fleet show in North America.  All different weight classes and alternative fuel types are represented here, including renewable fuels, electric, hybrid, hydrogen, natural, and propane gases.  This expo provides fleet managers a one-stop shop to make the best decisions about which alternative fuels will work best for them.  A truly diverse array of suppliers allows for some of the most extraordinary educational and networking opportunities available in the industry.

The Industry’s Top Leaders

The ACT EXPO will feature talks from some of the industry’s most important leaders.  For instance, the Women in ACT Summit will highlight the role female leaders are playing in creating the next generation of clean energy and transportation.  A broad range of civic and political leaders will address the topic, including representatives from State and Federal organizations such as the North Central Texas Council of Governments and the Federal Highway Administration.  Senior representatives from top private companies will speak as well, including executives from Ford Motor Company, Volvo, Walmart, Ryder, and Penske.

Maintaining Efficiency and Profitability during Volatile Times

Workshops at the ACT EXPO will cover some of the most provocative and important topics addressing the alternative energy industry today.  A forum will be provided to explore advanced technologies that are helping to improve fuel economy for trucking applications, including Class-8 tractor trailers.  A general session will be held with T. Boone Pickens and Gary Thomas addressing the cyclical nature of the energy market and the long-term implications of the volatility it is experiencing today.  Other forums will include explorations into advanced vehicle technologies and how clean fuels will play a vital role in the energy industry’s future.

Following Up on a Banner Year

Last year’s expo was a huge success.  Over 4,000 attendees from six continents experienced the event, which included 250 industry speakers, 75 vehicles for display and test drives/rides, and over 300 news articles in various media outlets.  Dozens of new products and technologies made their debuts at the event as well.  This year promises to be even bigger, with over 200 exhibitors scheduled for the main Expo Hall, a full complement of off-site technical tours, and a full service ACT EXPO mobile app available with fully updated information.
